Fishing Information

Hi I have two stories I would Like to Share with you. The first is how we won the Bayshore Mako & Shark Tournament, and second is Lighting Strikes Again. These stories can be read in the articles page of this website. Remember if you do not learn something new everyday you are missing something. Fishing is a favorite past time of almost everyone I know. We like to catch fish whenever we have the chance. I used to catch more large bluefish while I was digging clams with a twine and a bunker spoon than you can count. The same story the days you dont bring a rod the fish are breaking everywhere. I learned how to fish from my father when I was six years old. Then on summer vactions from school I started digging clams and catching fish in long island sound. As we grew older my friends and I grew apart but we still fish together when we have the chance every colombus day we travel to Pulaski NY and catch chinook salmon in the salmon river. We get together and fish offshore once of twice during the summer. I run a charter business as well as manufacture and import Fishing tackle and accessories. I like to test my products throughly before we market them. I did not want to leave the water to earn a living on land, so what a better way than have to test your own products by fishing. This is a legal excuse to go fishing from any person Eg. wife, weddings, bosses you get the idea. My son is only seven but has more boating experience than most grown-ups. We have had him sharken this summer for his first time. He really loved it. We trolled up loads of skipjacks, and bonita just him and I with five rods this was great fun. Teaching your kids to fish will be one of the best quality time events in all of your lives. Hopefully they will stay away from the bad eliments of life. Winter is closing in on us now and we will wait to next year for some more awesome fishing experiences. This year began with terrible weather blowing everyday The first local tournment was a total botch. The weather boat and club commitee did not call the tournment or postpone due to heavy weather. I believe when you enter a tournament You as captain are responcible for your crew and should not venture out if your equipment is not capable of handling the conditions. Any how One boat never returned to the dock and several families were left with out their fathers and sons. After this the season was tarnished. As summer progresses the weather was still flakey. Our crew managed to get in some fishing we won the tag & release division of the Bayshore Tuna Club Mako & Shark Tournament. I had a Charter with some New York City Firemen who had brought pictures of there Comrads who were lost during 9-11 they taped them to the bulkhead. I am glad they had a nice trip. Several trips all produced Some fish but not like last season. We managed to win first place in the Babylon Tuna Clubs Invitational tuna & shark Tournament in the Mako division. Even now the weather is still less then perfect. Remember to take your kids fishing and let them have fun too.
