The first time I took my 4 year old son fishing was a classic. We caught 2 trout in about 30 minutes. We were returning to shore in my boat. At the launch there were several bank fisherman. One called out "Did you catch anything?". My son yealled back "Yeah. I helped my daddy screw the fish." There was a big roar of laughter from all the bank fishermen and of course my son meant reeling in the fish not screwing them. After we landed he wanted to get into the water and I told him "Don't get into the water and get your shoes wet! I don't want wet shoes in my truck". So he did exactly what I told him too. He took off his shoes and proceeded to wade waist deep into the water.
