The football Smallie that got away.....Fishing the Shell river in northern Minnesota couldn't get a lip-lock on a gorgeous football sized smallie that went to the (3 foot bottom ) and was gone....Lesson learned, forget using fat bodied treble hooked crankbaits.

Personal Background

65 years old, retired, passionate bass fisher, both largemouth and smallies.I live in northern Minnesota near Leech lake.....great bass fishing area, many lakes and streams close by, just 2 hours from Rainy lake.
