Layne N. Ell How I Started Fishing: My Dad! Ever since I can remember my dad had a fishing pole in my hand! His passion was always salt water fishing , mostly fluke and weakies. I never fish a fresh water body of water until I moved to Mays Landing, NJ and had this great lake (Lake Lenape)just begging me to wet a line. Well one day about 7-8 years ago I toss in a hook, bobber and worm and starting catching bluegill and crappies right away- this was fun but then the real turning point for me was when a 3lb Largemouth Bass whacked a tiny piece of worm and gave me a great fight. When I landed the fish- my 1st ever bucketmouth- It was me that was hooked- hooked on freshwater largemouth fishing. I now fish about 100 days a year- traveled to Florida-Texas-Vermont and Nevada to chase em. Bought a boat and a kayak and have spent WAY to much money on assorted tackle-rods-reels-clothes and bass stuff. Now for the 1st time I joined a Bass Club- South Jersey Hook This. Will it ever end? No-Way! I am in for life!
