MY YOUNG BRIDE and her sister and brotherinlaw all went fishing in a northern river known for outstanding muskie fishing.we were living the moment when a monster by any measure hooked up. I fought it to the boat and two of us hoisted it aboard.It was snapping away at us while putting a tape on it. It measured 58" the lure was way down deep so we commenced to fishing with other cranks.The hours went by and the fishing was nonexistent. Paul and I got talking about how that lure in the mouth of the monster should get its lucky self back in the water. So we took the fish and layed it on the bank and paul straddled it.I went in with a small pair of pliers and as soon as I graabbed on the fish threw paul off and he bit down on me. I let out a scream as the lure buried four treble hooks in my left hand. I was able to free myself after being tackled by paul he would not let me use my knive to extricate myself from the muskie. Paul took me to the camp where we were promptly met by the girls,they looked at my hand and found that one hook went in my finger nad came out behind the finger nail the other two were just in the hand.We decided they could be removed with a little help from jack daniels. wendy poured while sandy and paul held me down and they took those hooks out and paul led me back to the boat in my inebriated mood and we put that hook back in and promptly put our second monster of the night in the boat it came in at just over 46".This would have to be the trip I shall never forget.
