Fishing Information

One warm afternoon I was fishing Congamond lakes in Southwick Mass.I was is a 12' Colman Canoe. Just Kinda Diddeling arround. I don't recal what I was useing for Bait. I was more enjoying just being out on the water then I was doing any serious fishing.Suddenly something hit my line and took off so fast and hard that my line zinged as it parted the water. I gave my pool a hrd jerk to set the hook and it felt as though I had snaged the bottom. My pool bent in half but wait I couldent have been snaged, now the line was heading streight at me and the bow of my canoe still zinging. My hart atarted pounding and I started to shake when I relized I haden't snaged bottom. Bottoms don't pull back and don't make lines go zing. By now it had passed under my canoes bow and was off and running. The line caught the bow of the canoe and spun it arround about 45 degrees then I began beeing pulled up the lake. I tightened my drag because it was stripping my reel clean of line. I think I was useing a 15lb test line after tightening my drag I began getting pulled even harder now and I got scared. I coulden't imagine what was on the other end of my pole at this point I don't think I even wanted to know.I was trying to decide what to do next, when the enevatble happened.SNAP!!! My line broke. To this day I don't know what I had on. Speculation is it may have been a lake sturgon. When I got back to shore I was still shaking . I never thought I could get scared fishing. I have gone back many times but never again did I ever get such a hit.
