I love fishin and have had some great luck and good times, but this story is a typical day(or nite) on the water with my boy. Last summer me and my and my crazy friend Serg decided to go fishin early mornin on ashumet pond which is right near his mothers house, perfect ;go to bed early and be on the water by 5 a.m.. This would have been a great plan if we stuck to it. Unfortunatly Serg drinks more coffe then anyone else I know and I love to drink captain Morgans. By 10 o'clock we decide why wait till morning? He had enough coffe in him to give a horse attack and I had enough captains in me to think it was a good idea. 10:30 we were on the water and ready to rock thinkin about the huge fish we were gonna pull in, seeing how we had pulled out 4lb.+ large and smallmouths earlier in the year. This is the list of events that followed, I don't rember the exact order but it was something else; -Attacked by bats on the water -almost killed by drunk boaters out for late nite cruise -Only big fish hooked lost due to reel disaster -canoe flipped due to pole lost overboard -pole saved by flipping canoe lost again later, this time for good -fish finder, scale, cigarettes, coffe, cigar, food, captain morgans all ruined/lost -Only one fish landed 1lb. bass (pretty sad) And the kicker is we got so disgusted that we ended up packin up and goin home to sleep at 4:30 a.m. only to hear that our friend went fishing at 5 a.m. and caught some "monster smallies!". that made me feel prety good and I was happy for him. This might not be a proud fishing story, but it's one I'll never forget!
