Fishing InformationAs a boy I grew up fishing with with my brother, father and grandfather. Raised in East Texas in the western end of Houston County the only fishing spot I knew was the Trinity River. I have many memories of running trot lines for catfish and gigging huge bullfrogs, while camping overnight on the river. In the spring during the spawning of the White Bass (Sand Bass) and Crappie (White Perch), I remember fishing from the bank at a spot on the river called Big Eddy. There were so many fish you could literally dip fish out of the river with a dip-net. Several years later my grandfather sold his boat and our fishing adventures on the Trinity River became fewer as the years past, but we did enjoy several trips a year to Lake Livingston to camp and fish with an uncle. Again the prey was mostly catfish (blues & channels) using trot-lines, jug-line and pole fishing. Now that I'm grown with 4 children I can only hope that the time I spend fishing with them will build memories they cherish for a lifetime. And they too will take their children fishing.
