Fishing Information

I am a self-taught angler. I have developed my own techniques for Fly and Spin Fishing by just being at it so long.

My best all around catch was back in the 80's when I caught a 20.5 lb. Rainbow. It was definately the State's Record. I keep the photo on the wall as a reminder of "how good we had it" back then.

Personal Background

I am married to my wife Judy and have two children and 3 grandchildren. I started fishing very early with my Grandfather. Being a Native Arizonan, I have loved the outdoors all my life. I was in the Ranching Industry for many years. I became a Hunting Guide with hounds. During a business meeting at Lees Ferry, in 1978, I stumbled across the Ferry. I fell in love with it and started doing trips for Marble Canyon Lodge. I then lived in Prescott, AZ. I became Lees Ferry's first licensed Guide in the area.

I have over the years increased my diversity in the Business. I do 17 trips a year for the Elderhostel Program which is Nationwide and International. I also started doing Fly Rodding for Stripers at Lake Powell to give a Saltwater Type Fishing adventure for anglers.

In 2000, Judy and I opened up the Fly Shop adjacent to the Lees Ferry Lodge. This Lodge has been a favorite destination of Anglers for many years. With it's rustic atmosphere and beautiful scenery and only 10 rooms, it is always a place for the Angler's to stop.

This past year we now doing Jeep Rentals, Kayak Rentals and Jeep Tours on the Kaibab.
