Pond's Resort on the Miramichi, private pools makes fly-fishing for wild Atlantic Salmon and Trout an exclusive experience, April to October.

For more than four generations this charming riverside resort has offered the classic fly-fishing experience to men and women, salmon and trout fishermen from around the world.

The Miramichi River remains one of the North America's healthiest and most prolific rivers for wild Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout.

In 2006, Pond's Resort on the Miramichi proudly maintains the rich traditions and meticulous service of a classic fly-fishing lodge and the facilities and programs of a full-service, year-round adventure resort.

Fishing the Miramichi River: The Miramichi River is one of the most productive Atlantic Salmon Rivers in the world. It is our privilege to offer guests exclusive use of nine miles of private water on its Main Southwest Branch. Pond's reputation as one of North America's premier salmon angling destinations for the past 80 years is built on results and attention.

While at Pond's enjoy the ambiance of our log cabins, reminiscent of traditional old time Miramichi fishing camps. Also available are private individual guest rooms. Our lodge is particularly popular with couples.

A full compliment of fishing tackle, flies, angling accessories, clothing and gifts are available at Pond's. The proper gear and fly-selection for the Miramichi is available on site.

Spring Atlantic Salmon Fishing:

Angling for Atlantic Salmon begins April 15, for the "spring" fish. This includes brisk mornings punctuated with plenty of action. All-inclusive packages starting at $999.00 Cdn./ 3 days area availabe. It's the perfect way to begin the wild Atlantic Salmon season, early.

Bright Atlantic Salmon Fishing:

The summer fish return to the river in mid June and continue until late September. Then a new surge of autumn arrivals continues until season-end in mid October. Each pf our private salmon pools, or which there are more than a dozen available for the exlosuve use of our guests, is different yet classic in the traditional sense. Picture yourself fishing the Home Pool. Packages starting at $550.00 Cdn. / day all inclusive.

Wilderness Trips

In addition to our lodge trips, Pond's offers three and six day fishing excursions to our wilderness camp. McKeil Brook Camp is located approximately 40 miles (70 kms) up river from the main lodge property in Ludlow, New Brunwick. Pond's offers a "float trip" reminiscent of the early 30's on the mighty Miramichi. Packages starting at $1025 Cdn / 3 days.

Both Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout fishing are offered at all our locations, and each trip is fully guided. Our guides,have years of experience and "know" this river.

Women's Fly-Fishing School,self-dubbed by the women themselves, "Broads with Rods"!

2006 will make the third year that Pond's Resort on the Miramichi has hosting up to 23 women from across North America, who experience (most for the very first time) the pleasure and passion of fly-fishing. Conducted by renowned fisherman, Katherine Mott, Pond's guides are hands-on for the event which includes an introduction to the sport, casting and fly-tying instruction, three Atlantic Salmon and trout fishing sessions, a "float trip" by canoe and outstanding memories. All-inclusive weekend including fishing equipment is $590 Cdn. Beginner and most advanced sessions are offered. Broads with Rods,Pond's women;s fly-fishing school is offered once a season in late June, 2006.

Resort Accommodations & Dining Pond's accommodations are comfortable and designed to reflect the personality and tradition of a classic angling resort. The finest in Atlantic Canada.

Each of our 9 cabins is fully serviced with a rustic style and sit within mere feet of the river bank of the Miramichi River. We are proud of our four star rating in the Outfitter Category of Canada Select. All guest rooms have private bathroom with shower, electric heat and one double bed, one queen bed, or two double beds. All guest rooms have television with cable. Our Riverside Lodge, built in 1925, has five bedrooms and two baths. Each bedroom has individually controlled electric heat. The lodge is equipped with large living spaces that include fireplace, stereo, television and a small well-equipped kitchen. You will enjoy "creative country cuisine" and a relaxed atmosphere in our Fiddleheads Dining Room. Overlooking the Home Pool, the dining room specializes in seafood--salmon particularly!-- and steaks, is licenced and friendly.

Meals - Pond's is famous for hearty, home-cooked meals with salmon & wild fiddlehead dishes, a customer favorite. Everything from outstanding seafood to landlubber's fare is available. Should you have special menu needs, we're happy to help. Our dining room is fully licensed with a seasonal outdoor deck. The on-site Pub serves light meals for a quick snack and beverage.
