The Deshka River is one of southcentral Alaska's premier salmon and trout rivers. The Deshka begins in the foothills of the Alaska Range near north America's highest mountain Denali (Mt. McKinley). Views of this great mountain can be seen from our river on clear days. The Deshka River is a clear water river and has runs of huge King (Chinook) Salmon. Hard fighting Silver(Coho) Salmon and numerous Pink (Humpie) Salmon. The Deshka also has a good population of Rainbow Trout. Other fish you may catch while fishing the Deshka are Northern Pike and Grayling.
In addition to great fishing you will be treated views of the wildlife that lives along our river. Big moose and bears, beaver, mink and majestic bald eagles. You never know what you may see.
Our fishermen are taken out daily in our jet boat to locations on the river where the fish are. We don't fish out of a boat we fish the shores of the river from gravel bars. Deshka Wilderness Lodge provides all the fishing gear you will need for a day of Alaska river fishing. We will provide you with spinning rods and reels. All the lures and bait you will need and either hip boots or chest waders.
So if you are looking for an Alaska fishing experience. Where you won't be one in a cword of people. Where you will fish a remote wilderness river away from crowds.
