Company Description

You will discover the true flavor of a west coast, wilderness adventure as we cruise the pristine waters of the spectacular Inside Passage of British Columbia.

We anchor daily in picturesque coves hidden among the majestic fjords and multitude of islands that dot the Inside Passage.

The calm waters provide a cruising playground as we navigate through narrow, scenic channels, following the fish, and enjoying all the best that nature has to offer.

Anglers will enjoy the best sport fishing for salmon and halibut, as the tugboat's mobility allows us to choose the best regions. The season begins in late May with numerous runs of Chinook (King) salmon congregating on the shoals and kelp beds of Langara Island and Naden Harbour in the Queen Charlotte Islands. This Chinook fishery is unsurpassed as anglers enjoy salmon up to 75 pounds and halibut up to 320 pounds!!

Area two is the Prince Rupert region on the border of B.C. and Alaska and home of the famous Skeena River King Salmon reaching weights over 90 pounds. Late July, August, and September the tugboats follow the great Northern Coho salmon runs of the Bella Bella region. The coho are in abundance and their stamina, energy and bursts of speed are legendary. The central coast is also home to productive halibut fishing banks, remote streams for fly fishing, and the trophy chinook salmon grounds of Hakai Pass, River's Inlet and Milbanke Sound, providing guests with a complete west coast fishing adventure.

Gray and humpback whales, porpoise, eagles, and orcas are our travelling companions, and provide treasured photo opportunities. There is plenty of time for going ashore, clam digging, putting out the crab pots, or exploring on your own with nature hikes, beachcombing or sportfishing.

Our two 1941 heritage tugs, PARRY and UNION JACK, have been extensively rebuilt for luxury cruising, and provide deluxe accommodations for only 8-12 guests. These 85 foot vessels are equipped with two berth cabins, cozy lounge with fireplace, and all the comforts of home, including tiled showers, bathrobes and hairdryers.

The captains and crew at Westwind spoil you with first class service and supply local history and knowledge. Our food is legendary, and the chefs try to out do themselves daily by turning out mouth-watering and healthy cuisine that will tantalize your taste buds.

For fishermen, we supply all the tackle, licenses, clothing and guides while we "Follow The Fish" to the best locations without the crowds. Our new, 18 foot, aluminum

catamarans are state of the art and the most comfortable skiffs available, fully equipped with radios, fish finders, and quiet Honda 4 stroke outboards.

Select your choice of activity and location and let yourself be pampered for one week of fabulous food, incredible scenery, and sensational fishing in a relaxing shipboard atmosphere. Ideal for families, corporate groups, couples, or individuals; our trips are specially designed for your maximum enjoyment.

This is the trip of a lifetime where you will meet new friends and share treasured memories of a unique west coast tug boat adventure. We hope you can join us soon!!
