Fishing was pretty good last week. I started the day around 2pm. Fishing near the dam was slow at first with smallmouths and strippers here and there, nothing to brag about but the action was good. Then around 6pm is when the day got good. I hooked into a three pound 19 inch walleye. Then on exactly three cast late I hooked into another one. This one was around 25 inches, but I lost him on the rocky shore no weight was taken. But I will be there this weekend so hope to see you there. Until then.

Well here I am again. Another visit to the river produced pretty good results. I was at a handicap this weekend. I brought along my two year old son and allowed him to have a little fun. I started out the day around nine. When I arrived at the river everything was fine. I started out catching small sunfish. Then they decided to open the spillway to the dam. This caused the water to rise about two feet and brought school upon schools of bait fish onto the rocky banks. So I decided to cast upstream and allow the current to carry my lure downstream. After A few cast I hooked into a very healthy smallmouth bass. Then about six cast later I hooked into a 26inch 4.5 walleye, she was a beautiful thing. I was using small tackle and six pound test with loose drag because of the current. The rest of the day produced 15 to 20 strippers between 8 and 12 inches. I will be out there this weekend and I hope to see you there.

Until Then
