I fish this lake often, it has been a perfect winter spot. The bass, pickeral, and crappie are held up in a shallow run-off at the bottum of a dam. I fished here all winter(when the weather was permitable) and have had great success. The last time I was here was Sun. March 6th. (Times were from 1pm-3:30pm) I used live bait (shiners, because they work the best.) I have not figured out what lure to use,(in the winter time,) at this spot. I caught (in 2 hours) 4 largemouth bass,(1-3lbs.,) 1 crappie,(bigger then my hand,) 1 pickeral,(20 inches.) Also, in the lake on the other side of the road, my brother almost caught a five pounder on a spinnerbait.(He's always losing the big ones, ha ha ha.

I've fished here for a while. I think it's a great spot for panfish. I use meal worms and I usually get 30-40 panfish in two hours. I've only caught one bass here so I wouldn't say its very good for bass. I hope can get back to this lake in the next week!

I went to Blackwood lake yesterday and the fishing as ok. I tried live shiners for a while had a few bites, but ended up only landing one black crappie. I saw a few large carp swimming around so I tried using gulp corn to catch them, but no luck. I used a frog hula popper for a while, but caught nothing. Then I switched to storm live baits and caught nothing. Then I used my rattlin rapala. Immediately after my first cast I felt something tug hard. I thought I had a huge bass on the line, but I reeled it in and it was a huge turtle!! I went to get my pliers, but the turtle freaked ou tand snapped the line. So theres a turtle with a rattlin rapala swimming around now......So overall I lost a rapala lure and only caught one crappie, so it wasn't the best day but oh well

I bought about 3 dozen medium shiners and came back to this lake. I brought two rods. I put a shiner on one and casted it out and put the rod down. I fished for blue gills with the other. After about twenty minutes my rod with a shiner on it almost went into the water. I grabbed it and I thought I had a big bass on the line.It turns out I had a huge american eel on the line. I caught it and let it go. I had a few more bites the rest of the day but no more fish. My friend caught a yellow perch though.
