Foster Lake is a man-made reservoir on the South Santiam Fiver. It contains stocked rainbow trout, kokanee, small and large mouth bass, sunfish, crappie and bullhead. Any steelhead caught above Foster Dam are wild winter run fish and must be released. Summer steelhead are hatchery fish are located below Foster Dam on the South Santiam River.

Foster Lake is used extensively for sking and recreational boating in the summer and the best fishing is early morning or evenings after the skiers have quit the water. There are two "arms" where boats are limited to 5 mph where fishermen go to in busy periods. There is plenty of accessible bank fishing areas and 2 boat ramps.

There are no boat rentals.
