Get Flathookedup Inshore flats fishing
Our typical inshore flats fishing can be fun for everyone.
Weather you’re a novice to an advanced angler the inshore flats has lots of opportunity.
Most of the water that is fished is less than 15 minutes to the launch site.
The backwaters of Charlotte Harbor, Pine Island Sound and surrounding waters are full of species such as Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Trout, and a large variety of other targeted species. The average depth of water fished is about two and a half feet. Most of the fishing done on the flats is calm water just like fishing on a lake at home.
Many anglers like what the inshore trip has to offer because of the wildlife and variety of species to be caught.
Capt. Jay specializes in Redfish and Tarpon and the inshore flats are prime areas for locating huge schools of redfish or even seeing hundreds of redfish tails out of the water feeding on crustaceans. Anytime during the year it’s not uncommon to find schools of redfish prowling the shallows looking to feed on whatever they come across. Sometimes the schools of redfish can reach numbers of 500-1000 fish. These large schools give you the angler the opportunity to catch more than you can handle in a days trip.
The flats are full of life, from bald eagles to manatee and dolphin, there is always something to see and watch if your not to busy catching fish.
