Company Description

Welcome to Alaska Your Southeast Alaska wilderness vacation headquarters!

We invite you to be our personal guests at Log Cabin Resort, RV Park, and Campground which is located on the Prince of Wales Island just west of Ketchikan. Our resort offers a private marina and boat moorage. With your package you will explore and fish Southeast Alaska's coastlines and waterways aboard the Island Skipper, our 34' diesel powered charter boat.

We have enjoyed living here since 1970. Come and experience the hospitality of our facilities, along with world class fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, and exploring. "We are proud to say we have been in this business for over 25 years offering an "Alaska Wilderness Adventure Vacation of a Lifetime!"

Our ocean and islands are full of wildlife, home to Orcas and Humpback whales, Sea Lion colonies, five species of migrating Salmon, hefty Halibut, Bald Eagles, Sea Birds, Alaskan Black Bear, the Alexander Archipelago Wolf, Sitka Blacktailed Deer along with spectacular scenery. We also support a rich Alaskan Native Culture. Come have a look!

Campground

Log Cabin Resort, RV Park, and Campground offers off the beaten path "Alaska." Our location is quiet and secluded. Guests are nestled among original growth spruce and hemlock trees. We offer 17 sites, some of which are drive through, all of which offer a base from which one may explore the huge bank of islands known as the Alexander Archipelago.

Our three rustic campground cabins sleep three comfortably. Sleeping bags and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabins offer no running water. Campground amenities are close by each cabin.

Campground Amenities

We offer a community kitchen, restroom, shower, and laundry facilities for our Campground guests. The RV park is within walking distance of a convenience store and a well stocked grocery and liquor store. One can drive the seven miles to the fishing village of Craig to shop for small town bargains or to eat in some of the fine restaurants found there.

We provide boat rentals and charters, or you may launch your boat and fish for salmon and halibut, or film the rich sea life that abounds in our corner of the Pacific from the campground marina.

Accommodations

Our resort suites have a separate bedroom and a futon couch in the front room. They are located on the waterfront with bald eagles and jumping salmon providing most of the window entertainment. A phone is located just out the door. The units handle up to four people, but we offer a log home that will sleep five.

Grubbins

Resort guests may select one of the area's fine restaurants in which to eat, call and have a meal delivered, or do a little cooking themselves. Fresh crab, fish, and shrimp make anyone's cooking ability shine. All units have kitchens and a barbecue.

All of the fishing, eco tour and dive packages include a Continental Breakfast and a box lunch. We also provide transportation to your evening meal, (not included in any package).

Charters

Charters are available aboard the "Island Skipper." She is a quick 34' diesel powered lobster-type boat that Skip designed and helped build in East Booth Bay, Maine. She has a walk-around cabin, and a shrimp pot puller. The "Island Skipper" has a private walk-in head and heater. She is equipped with all the latest fishing and electronic equipment that is necessary to provide you with a safe and successful trip.

Guide Experience

Your guide, Skip Fabry, has explored and fished Alaska since 1970. He enjoys watching people experiencing wildlife up close, and especially catching large fish. Skip is a Coast Guard licensed Captain. As one of the longest established Guides on Prince of Wales Island, he is a skilled fisherman and accomplished at making your Alaskan wilderness adventure vacation successful and exciting.

King Salmon and Halibut are most often caught out in the ocean. We are never more than a mile off shore, always in site of land. Should the outside waters be too rough, we will fish inside the protection of the many islands between our lodge and the open ocean. That is the beauty of Southeast's host of islands.

On your request, we will set shrimp and crab pots. These shellfish can be boxed with your finfish catch so the rest of the family can enjoy.

Bear Hunting and/or Deer and Wolf! Outfitting and Transportation 4 Days, 5 Nights
