Fishing Information

The best/worst fishing trip I took involved dragging a 10 foot flatbottom boat across a bunch of train tracks and under a bunch of rail cars. There is a pond behind a local mill that every one calls "the mill pond" (makes sense no?)

In this pond there are some huge bass,I dont know if its because of the chemicals from the mill or the lack of people fishing it (what with the train tracks and all) it is a real pain in the butt to get to!

I had fished this pond a lot of times on foot and caught lots of fish ,bass, crappie, bream etc.

Well one day I decided it was time to take a boat and really get serious,so me and my boat ,tackle box ,and a brand new bag of grape rubber worms, went fishing ,mistake number one,no help dragging that damn boat!

At any rate I was determined to fish so me, boat and rubber worms made it to the water ,Mistake number two! As I put the boat in the water I couldent help but notice the bass swimming from shore,oh the excitement!

I couldnt wait to launch ,but wait, I was so thirsty I had to have a drink!Alas, mistake number three,I remembered the ice chest in the truck, and it was full of those long neck beers that taste so good when its hot.

Well when I got in the front of the boat to scull,I knew somthing was not quite right, the back of the boat was wayyyy up in the air! Oh I remember there was no one to help me carry the boat which meant there was no one to weigh the back of the boat down,no problem, less boat in the water means less to have to paddle!Down longneck number one .

Well ,the fish were really biting and the day was glorious,I had some really good fish hanging on the stringer, off the side of the boat! And those longnecks, bless,em were so good ,it was so hot!

Well I had almost made it all the way around the pond , it was a good size pond and I had been there awhile. And like I said it was a hot day,So to keep from dehydrating!!!!!!!!!! Well you guessed it. another longneck!

My" bag o worms" were almost gone (25 count I might add)So it was time to head back, and head back I did,But hey I did have a few worms left so why not~!

As I sculled back , I saw that the trains were working to get just the right amount of cars to go where ever it is they go! Well cool, its going to take them a little while to hook up Which means I can catch some more fish, right after this longneck!

As I was getting back to shore I felt that urgent tap, tap, tap( you know the one)which meant a fish was going to be supper. As I dropped the rod tip down to get ready for the big hook set ,I noticed the line moving side ways" oboy oboy" Now" a voice inside my head said " do it now" So do it I did, It all happened so fast that it was like the proverbial flash of light.

I heard what I thought was a gunshot ,but no it was not a gunshot,it was my line parting company with my rod!O,k thats happened before ,dont panic, but wait why am I so off balanced ? Oh no , those longnecks, well as I felt myself flipping over backwards I thought well at least no one will witness this !WRONG,WRONG,WRONG!

As I tried to get back in the boat ,the front end dipped filling that damn little boat with water,Well my tackle box was floating off, where was my rod ? Oh no ,where is the paddle. But the last straw was the ice chest,it was floating off and it still had a longneck in it!

Well I finally got back in the boat ,(covered in moss)got my paddle, tackle box,rod and reel, and you guessed it that darn icechest! As I paddeled the boat (full of water) back to shore,I looked to where the train was working to see if I could get my boat back to the truck and much to my dismay there was the locomotive stopped ,all the men were on the tracks ,laughing their butts off, watching me try to get my full of water boat up on the bank.

I heard one of them say "And you dident even get the fish" Well thats okay,I did have a stringer full of big bass,They were on the clock, And I had a longneck to drink!!!!!!!!!!!!
