Fishing InformationI learned how to fish when I was 18, from my grandfather in B.C. I was stationed(military)in Victoria B.C. in the early 70's and used to travel to my grandparent's place in the interior. My grandfather first took me fishing to a small river that had about 3 pools below some falls. I borrowed my grandmother's fishing rod and reel, which he snuck out of the house with the instructions I wasn't to tell. Anyway, we walked about 2 miles on a small path to the first of 3 pools and he proceeded to tell and show me what to do. It was a spinning outfit but I don't remember what brand or model. Again, showing me what to do, hold the rod, hold the line with index finger etc. I was making my first cast, and I really put some muscle into it to. Just about as soon as I finished with my forward motion I seen a large splash out in the middle of the pond. I went to start cranking the handle on the reel and low and behold, there was no reel. I figured out what the splash was. Anyway, we looked at each other and started to laugh. He put his finger to his lips and said we were to say nothing to grandma. We would have to sneak the rod into the house and go order another reel for her, hopefully before she found us out. Well, we did get away with it, thank the fish gods she didn't fish too much. Ever since then I fish as often as I can. It actually turned into a profession for me. I built a small fishing lodge in Northern Manitoba. Personal BackgroundBoat InformationI use as my main fish boat a 20ft Lund Alaskan. It has electronic locator 2 elctric downriggers a 3hp minkota motor powered by a 90 hp Merc. My Fishing Favorites
