Fishing InformationFishermen are known to stretch the truth, but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Take the time I caught a largemouth bass by the tail. I was fishing a Rebel floating stick bait on a private lake down in Arkansas, when WHAM! I could tell I had a good one on the line and he even jumped up out of the water to where I could tell I had him by the mouth. Suddenly, my line went slack. I had lost him. Then, I felt the tension on the line once more and this time landed a nice 2-3 pounder. . .hooked by the tail! The novelty of this occurrence didn't seem so swell when I went to remove the hook from his tail. He flopped and a treble hook dug into my hand and even more so as he struggled against the hook in him and my efforts. I couldn't hold him and unhook either of us with only one hand, so I ended up holding him to the ground beneath my knees and freeing the hook from the fish before I could attend to my hand.
