I am avid bassfisherman and that's where my nickname "Avid" stems from. It's gotten so that alot of my friends don't call me by any other name. I grew up on Long Island but unlike most folks from that area I did not particularly enjoy saltwater fishing. I loved the trees, birds, shorelines, and "woodsy" feel of bass fishing, so that's where I fished. Today I am semi retired and living on Floridas Treasure Coast where again I find myself bucking the trend by not fishing much in the salt. Don't get me wrong, snook, redfish and speckled trout are great fish to pursue and catch, but the Largemouth bass is still my favorite. I think it's because of all the neat lures they can be caught on. I am a dedicated tackle junkie and the lure manufacturers best friend. I really love to buy new lures and fish em till I catch a few nice bass, then buy some other new ones and start all over again!
