Fishing Information

I started bass fishing at age 18, did two tours of duty in Viet-Nam and even fished in some bassy looking rice paddys much to no avail.Upon returning to the USA and some hospital time at Walter reed in DC area.We made our home in Maryland.Maryland was a great state to fish in.My favorite fishing areas where the US Navys torpedo testing lakes near Indian Head,Maryland and Hughsville,MD. these three lakes where very unknown and lightly fished by others .There where 3 of them and all three where over 150 acres and no bass boat restrictions. All three ponds always produced lunker sized 6 to 10lb. bass.Best summer baits when the Maryland humidity began its awsome heat summertimes where shiners, and Aborgasts now defunct crankbait the "Mudbug" and number 2 "Mepps" spinnerbaits always produced well there.I am now told that all 3 ponds are privately owned.I wonder if the owners know what they truly have?

Personal Background

I am a 59 yr.old Bass Master of past Pro experience.Due to a recent injury I was forced to lay down my fishing equipment,I had to give up my ranger bass boat for a wheelchair. My past home was in Maryland,my Drs. told me to move west or south for warmer weather. My wife and I chose southwest florida as our new home.We truly love our new home state of Florida,Once again I am returning to Bass fishing. However being wheelchair bound has its problems in fishing, but it has not deterred me much. The worst of all this is I am no longer allowed to drive a vehicle.Hence I cannot get another bass boat.Nor can I seem to find anyone willing to have me as a rear seater partner.Though above the waist I am quite functional.I have been fishing the canals and some ponds in our new home area near Englewood,Florida. The canals have been very productive for me cattching many 5 to 10lb.bass on cranks and senko baits.Of late though some folks have asked me to stop fishing the canals because they seem to be worried that because of the banks along the canals they think me and my wheelchair will fall in the steep banks.I say this is non sense.! But they do not agree.Any help from any one here would be greatly apreciated,it truly would. I fished in my 20's on the basspro circuit for 10yrs. when job constrictions had me lay down my equipment. Now at age 59 I am once again getting back into my beloved sport, but as one can see I have a realy big comeback trail to begin a new again and many obstacles to overcome.I think many of the people standing in my way in my new home of Florida are jealouse because I really showed off my catchs before I released them all back into the canals and there where some really huge catchs all photographed for the grand kids to dream about.I am not giving up my beloved sport of choice, and I truly hope someone will see this and perhaps take me on as a bass partner in the Englewood area of Florida.I will gladly share expenses what have you.
