As the owner of Silver Salmon Creek Lodge, I'd like to tell you a little about myself and my philosophy towards outdoor experiences in Alaska.
I came to this state at the age of 2, in 1953, my parents being school teachers in the Lake Clark/Lake Iliamna area, a remote "bush" part of Alaska where sled dogs, a log cabin and carrying our own water were a way of life.
I bought Silver Salmon Creek Lodge in 1983, a potential business at that time, and nurtured it into an established recreational destination, under the same management now for 19 years.
It is my hope that by offering personalized tours and activities from brown bear photo trips to world class salmon fishing, I can provide life long memories in an ecologically sound manner to visiting guests from all over the world.
With a 12 guest maximum and a 40% return, I hope to see you at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge, where our informal, casual atmosphere, renowned food service and outdoor adventures will be everything you thought an Alaskan vacation could be.
Details
Only a short flight by small plane from either Anchorage, Soldotna or Homer, Silver Salmon Creek Lodge is a unique Alaskan vacation destination. Our modern facility, complete with a generator system, sauna, showers and freezers include double occupancy rooms in the main lodge, private house-keeping cabins, and a nearby deluxe tent camp, set up on a pristine wilderness stream with majestic Mt. Iliamna as a back-drop. Parties of 3 or more can fly in from Anchorage while parties of 1 or 2 depart from Soldotna or Homer, which are accessed from Anchorage by a scenic drive or commuter airlines which fly several times daily. We can also help you with overnight accommodations in Soldotna or Homer. The small tidally-affected streams we fish provide unequaled spin and fly-cast opportunities for silver salmon, chum and pink salmon & dolly varden char. Our 25' charter boat takes anglers to offshore halibut grounds with high success rates and all gear provided. Vacuum seal machines insure your catch will be properly processed.
Other activities include our popular bear viewing/photography program, boat visits to nearby sea-bird rookeries, sea-kayaking, fossil exploring along an ancient Jurassic seabed, clam digging for succulent razor clams, canoeing, hiking, beach-combing, and wilderness tent camping.
Items to bring include layered clothing (average mid 50 temps), hip boots, raincoat, camera/film, sunglasses, bug repellent, and fishing gear. Fishing licenses and medium action spin rod/reel for rent are available.

I came to this state at the age of 2, in 1953, my parents being school teachers in the Lake Clark/Lake Iliamna area, a remote "bush" part of Alaska where sled dogs, a log cabin and carrying our own water were a way of life.
Later, after my father was lost in a plane crash, we moved to the Kenai Peninsula, where I graduated from high school.
Psychology was my subject of interest in college, which I studied at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. After working for several years at a group home for troubled adolescents, I decided there was no better way to blend my love for the outdoors and still work with people than by establishing a wilderness facility where I could appreciate both.
