Imagine, the nearest community is 14 miles away and is itself isolated, with no roads and outside access by boat and helicopter only. The closest road of any kind is 25 minutes away via helicopter @ 120 MPH.
At our doorstep is some of the very finest fly fishing for Atlantic salmon available anywhere.
Healthy populations of Moose, Woodland Caribou and Black Bear abound here, affording excellent opportunity for sightings, as well as highly controlled hunting in season.
For those interested in the more traditional hunting methods, we have become focussed on archery hunts.
Various species of small game are also present, including the Ptarmigan,which provide tremendous wing shooting sport during open season.
An unlimited expanse of unspoiled countryside at the lodges gives an unbelievable appreciation of nature.
For those adventurous enough to tackle the sometimes demanding terrain, the rewards of hiking are breathtaking.
The photographer is given every opportunity, the ecstasy of this atmosphere and the prevailing solitude is difficult to accurately recreate on an image.
We are about to commence another Atlantic salmon fly fishing season at our lodges, with first guests arriving on June 13. Current water levels are excellent and with reports of good early runs in some other regions, we are very optimistic about another super summer of fly fishing at Grey River.
