I have plenty of comments about the way our State is managing the Clermont Chain of lakes water way. It seems SJRWMD cares little for the Clermont lake and even less about the poeple who live there. I have been fishing the chain of lake for years and now I am a resident for almost three years. For the past two years the lake has been impossible to fish with anything other then a canoe. The lake level is about seven feet below normal becuase either Polk or the SJRWMD drained it whether intentionally or not no one knows. The draught has had an effect there is no question. However, the lake does not evaporate at a rate of 12 inches a month, which is what it did in 2000. No one in responsible position for the Florida water management districts will own up to how the wtater dropped so quick and what will be done to restore the lake. Rather I'm convinced the power to be are trying to destroy a beautiful natural resource and recreation area.
