On the first day of this new year of 2005 I went here for a few hours.(11am - 2:30pm) It was surprisingly warm, I fished the north end, as far back as I can walk, and I caught 3 pickerel on various baits rigged texas style. My first was a nice size of about 18 inches my next two were between 11 and 13 inches. These fish were all very active, they hit my bait with authority and put up a good fight.

I was here on Jan. 8, 2005. It was a positive outing but disappointing for me. I had a green crawfish with a red belly and claws, rigged carolina style. I was fishing the north end again, I was patient for a couple hours, nothing was biting. Until, I felt a little "tick-tick" on my line, it was a bass, small, but a bass. Right as I got him up to shore he fell off, it kinda hurt. I then moved up to the south side of the road, I stayed right by the road. I was now throwing a chartreuse bleeding tube, same rig, and a big pickerel, I did'nt know this right away but quickly figured this out, hit hard. I tried to set the hook but it seemed to come right out his mouth. I reeled my line in to find no tube, no hook, (I was using 20lb test powerpro and circle hooks with a 4 inch tube.) I re-rigged with crawfish and he ate the claws off it, I then put a creature on and had no bites. I packed up, so the day was good, they were biting, but none landed.

I was here on Monday, March 7th, It was between the times of 4pm and 5:15pm. I was again fishing the north end but closer to the road. I was using a french fry worm with a paddle tail rigged texas style. I caught a very big pickeral(don't know how big, maybe 22-24 inches.) He was'nt as active as Jan. I had no other bites. Before I left I spoke with a fellow angler and he said the pickeral have been biting alot lately and he uses live minnows and rooster tails.
