army fisherman | Posted: July 28, 2008

i really haven't fished much of clarks hill lake heck theres almost 2000 miles of lake front, But the parts I have fished are great especially if you love night fishing and early morning fishing. I mainly fish pointes west army recreation area at the farthest point, and in and around the marina. I mainly use cut blue back herring, chicken livers, and sometimes beef hearts. If you're looking for some great fishing and dont mind being sore from bringing in some lunkers you have to fish clarks hill lake. Just recently i pulled in a 5lbs 5 oz. brown bullhead catfish 4 oz. from breaking the GA record. My buddies and I have pulled in countless Gar ranging from 5-30lbs. We also have great fishing for hybrid/stripped bass. bigest one a little over 26lbs. The catfishing if spectacular. My buddy landed a 32lbs blue cat in about 15 feet of water. Also if you love large mouth bass and crappie fishing this lake is the place to go. Well I've rambeled on long enough get out there and go fishing.
