Michael Peters | Posted: December 30, 2002

Paintsville Lake was rated one of the top walleye lakes in Kentucky (ranked 2nd if not mistaken). Paintsville Lake is a very deep lake with naturally a cooler temperature than most other lakes. I guess this must be why walleye thrive here. It is nothing to consistently pull out fish in the 22 to 26 inch range and I have seen numerous 10 pound plus walleye taken from Paintsville Lake. My name is Mike Peters and my adress is (2051 Route 1107 Paintsville, KY 41240) in case you can send me some information how to pull trophy walleyes in our deep lake. Thank you for your time and good luck to you in the upcoming season. Mike Peters P.S. Spinning jigs and 1/8 ounce jigs with live minnows work best at Paintsville Lake for the bigger walleyes and jigs with nightcrawlers will consistently catch walleyes of any size!
