Here's a quick reference guide for Lake Beseck, Middlefield CT : Lake Beseck is a small lake near the defunct Powder Ridge ski area in Middlefield CT a few miles east of the junction of I 91, Rt 15 and I 691. The main (northern part) of the lake is clear and deeper than the shallower southern end which is warmer and weedy towards mid summer. The lake has jet skis and water skiers after mid June when the [low] speed limit is lifted. There is also a secluded and tree shaded cove on the east side which is the lake's outlet. Fishing is pretty much limited to bass and panfish species due to the in-season water temps. A nice local restaurant, the Blackbird Tavern is across the street (Rt 147) opposite the cove outlet and a great hot dog/sandwich type diner, Guida's, is located about a mile north of the lake at the intersection of RTs 66&147. Paved boat launch off of Rt 147. Lot/ramp is tight and terraced, so very large boats ( 25' + ) won't make it. Gas, LP,and snacks are available at a convenience store right at the north end of the lake. Review by A.J.
