Profishient is docked in Saugatuck, MI which is one of the most prolific catch producing ports on Lake Michigan and home to some of the most respected captains on all of the Great Lakes.
Year in and year out Saugatuck continues with one of the highest catch ratio’s per hours fished compared to other larger (and more crowded) ports on Lake Michigan.
The season starts in late April hooking browns trolling between sandbars on the beach.
May begins the annual northward migration of salmon from the warm southern basin of Lake Michigan and produces average catches of 15-25 fish per half day trip.
Mid-June slows down as the lake turns over and begins to setup the summer thermocline which creates ideal locations for summer trout and salmon to congregate.
July begins the summer season which lasts through the end of August. Consistent catches offshore and pleasant summer weather make this an ideal time for a successful fishing trip.
Labor Day weekend signals the start of the annual runs up the river by giant hog kings.
Most of our fishing will concentrate around the mouth of the Kalamazoo river, producing excellent catches of 20 plus pound bruisers.
