Our main lodge is a cathedral style log cabin lodge with a giant stone fireplace. It has a surrounding porch that looks out over the lake. It was originally hand-crafted by the Mennonites back in the late 60's and was used as a missionary. Then Billionaire Charlie Weyerhaeuser bought the lodge and added more cabins and open it's doors as Keyamawun Lodge. Keyamawun is Cree for "Peaceful Place" thus the inspiration to change the name of the lodge to Peace Island Lodge in 1992.
Our main lodge houses our dining room, kitchen and recreation area. There is a fully equipped free bar which is available at all hours. There is a giant hand made fireplace constructed from stones from the lake which keeps the lodge cozy and warm. After dinner, many of our customers come to the main lodge, have a few drinks and talk about the day's fishing or get a community poker game going.
The furniture in the main lodge is all hand made with pine and nicely accents the hardwood floor. When you walk into our main lodge, it's like you have walked back in time to a place where life was simple and relaxing.
