Lucky Craft launches their own ''Shock and Awe'' Campaign

Lucky Craft launches their own ''Shock and Awe'' Campaign Lucky Craft launches their own ''Shock and Awe'' Campaign
By Jeremiah T. Bagwell

In attempt to launch an all out assault on the fishing industry, Lucky Craft turned more than a few heads last week in Las Vegas. Voted as the “Best New Hard Bait” at the 2004 ICAST show, the Live Pointer 95SP™ has already created an ear drum rattling buzz throughout the fishing industry. In previous years, outdoors writers had done the voting for each award category. This year however the ICAST organization shifted gears and gave retail buyers the honor of choosing the champions. “This is always a great win but it really means a lot when the retailers vote for you to win,” explained Chris Armstrong of Lucky Craft USA.

As the old adage goes, looks aren’t everything. This is definitely the case with the new Live Pointer 95SP™. This bait is a fish catching, limit producing, machine. Like the Pointers that preceded it, the Live Pointer 95SP™ has the classic Pointer head movement. In addition, the multi-jointed tail moves in such a fluid side to side motion, you will almost think you are using live bait. “This bait has a totally different and new swimming action,” Lucky Craft Pro Mike Auten explained. “There are so many different possibilities to fishing this bait. You can still get it to jerk side to side like a standard jerk bait, but you can also make it swim with a tail kicking action.” The jointed portion of the bait is supported by a double reinforced stainless steel wire to ensure durability and stability. Because of the innovative design, this bait can actually absorb the shock received when a bass tries to turn or rollover in an attempt to escape. This technological masterpiece gives anglers every possibility to keep a good solid hookset.

The Live Pointer 95SP™ was engineered to appeal to more than a single sense. It was designed to trigger both, “image bites” that are common with swim baits and “reaction bites” that are often enticed by jerk baits. Still incorporated in the solid head portion of the bait, are precision balanced weights and rattles. It is apparent at first sight that this bait is like no other on the market. “A lot of times, if you can just throw something new to the bass, it will trigger a strike.” Auten said. “Also if you are getting fish that will not commit to taking a bait, you can switch on them and that can make all the difference.”

Unlike many other baits on the market, this one should not be viewed as one to catch fisherman and not fish. If you are not throwing one of these “weapons of bass destruction,” you will be out fished. The new Live Pointer 95SP™ should be available to the public in August of this year. Im writing about the product instead of the article. I purchased 4 from a local dealer who ordered 100 strait from the show in Vegas. I both like and dislike the bait. It does not do what I had hoped it would do. I own about thirty+ pointer jerk baits I was hoping that these would have a wider wobble but it is less. It also will not run near as deep as the other pointers. It suspends tail down kind of like the old devils toothpick, which causes it to launch upward when you twitch it. Trying to weight the nose will cause the bait to sink and messes the action up. The bait does catch fish. I have used it in four tournaments now and it does work. But it’s not been enough to get excited about. Were this bait does work well at is fishing shallow grassy flats were other pointers will run to deep. It has a more subtle action then the others and has a smooth action when cranking over the grass which is what has been working for me. I think it will produce allot better in spring time patterns. Will have to wait till next year to figure that one out. If you have any question feel free to email me at [email protected] the tackle store still has a few left, for those who are interested. Their name is: Aberdeen bait and tackle located in Aberdeen NC. You’ll have to call information to get up with them, I don’t know the number. Out side of spending too much money there I have no connection with them. Just said that so no one would think that was the reason for my comments. Happy hooking Steve

That's your opinion and everybody has one. Good thing we like in a great country. I must inform you though, this was not released directly from Lucky Craft. I wrote it, I talked to Chris Armstrong, I talked to Mike Auten.

If you don't like it, that is your choice. I am not going to be mad at you about it.

Have a great one,
JT Bagwell

This material was posted verbatum on other sites too. It's advertising copy from Lucky Craft, nothing more. Try to buy one of these lures on line...Ha! I'll stick to worms.
