Sixteen inch crappie caught in the late evening from the from the back of a john boat, using a home made rig consisting of a 7 ft. piece of switch cane and 4 lb. test line, with a small chartreuse jig tipped with a minnow as bait. My son was pulling us through a thick cover of willows near the bank . . . just off the Mississippi River levee.
