Burr Oak is one of several state parks in southeastern Ohio. Burr Oak Lake is a beautiful and very peaceful lake. With its rolling hills and heavily wooded landscape, it makes for great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Very secluded, great for fishing (bass, small and large), relaxing, and the people are very friendly! You can trawl around all day in and out of the lakes many coves. Plenty of parking, slips, and room to maneuver. If you do not plan to stay on your boat, the park and surrounding area has plenty of lodging. The park itself has a gorgeous lodge with an indoor pool and large great room with fireplace, cosy cabins, and several camping areas. Best time to visit: October, when the leaves are changing colors. Personally, I am very partial to this area. If you have time, check out the local attractions. My favorite, Chuck Bosari’s stained glass studio/barn +++ Being from out of town, I would rate the overall tranquil experience a 4+ out of 5. It is worth seeing at least once and I can almost guarantee you'll be back!
