Pacific Blue marlin are not like their black marlin colours in that they like to surprise a lure spread and not make themselves so obvious.

Choose medium sized lures in the 10-12 inch range with a heavy resin head so they sit down harder on the surface.

Use a single 10 or 11/0 SS hook on 450 wire shackled into a thimble on the end of 300 lb mono leader 10-15 feet in length.

Fore more information of trolling flying fish baits for marlin and other pelagics, contact Capt. Peter Phillips in Vanuatu - the home of blue marlin in the Pacific.
