The Peacock Bass is also found in Gatun and Madden lakes in the country of Panama in big amounts.

In Hawaii, fly fishermen use "Keel Hooks" when tying their stramer flys. Keel hooks are almost weedless. Since peacock bass tend to hold near shore, these weedless flys making fishing way back up in the grass and in brush tops much easier.
