Bob Koeshall The RiverRat

My name is Bob Koeshall, and I own Gone Fishing Guide Service, here in Central Wisconsin. I am a licensed Wis. Fishing guide and an author on fishing and fishing related endeavors.

I have had great feedback from the readers of the websites and magazines where my articles appear, and when they e-mail me or phone me I take the time to answer each and every one. I also have had many Pro-Anglers contact me about a certain method I use and certain bodies of water I fish, as well as my thoughts on a specific questions, and for permission to use my articles as reference. Many term papers have been written about my testing of various fishing lines and the article I wrote on it. Every year I teach grade school children how to fish, what baits to use and why. I also donate my time to various youth fishing contests, and Judge for the Musky Tournaments on my home waters. Every year we stock Musky with money raised from the Tournament to help sustain the population of Musky in our waters. I have also been asked by the Minn. And Wis. Sea Grant Programs to spearhead a program to educated fellow guides Tournament anglers, on how to inspect and stop the spread of Zebra Mussels in my state. I also do seminars on the Zebra Mussels as well as Walleyes, and other fish that are in our waters.

You can view my articles on line at www.lake-link.com, www.Fishtheriver.com , www.fishwisconsin.com. www LandBigFish.Com I am a field reporter for several web sites and I also do fishing reports for most walleye sites on the net.

I have fished the waters of Northern and Central Wis. for over 40yrs. and know the Wis. River system very well, and what is needed to catch the fish in these waters. I have put a great deal of time and money into learning these bodies of water, so my clients can have a great day on the water, using the same products I use day in and day out. It is very easy to talk to my clients about all the products I use, because I use them every day. Teaching my clients about the system we fish is also a big part of the total experience I want to give to them. One thing I have found through the years is when you use quality products that really work, the teaching and selling part of my job is quite easy. My sponsors mean a great deal to me, and I promote the products EVERY DAY.

In my articles I try to keep them as fisherman friendly as I can for every reader to be able to understand and put the methods to work for him, or her. I have had great feedback from the readers of the web sites and magazines where my articles appear, and when they e-mail me or phone me I take the time to answer each and every one. I also have had many Pro-Anglers contact me about a certain method I use and certain bodies of water I fish, as well as my thoughts on a specific methods, lures etc. I answer them as I would anyone else, we are all fisherman, and I have fished in Tournaments so I know the importance of whats happening right now.

The waters that I mainly guide on are in central Wisconsin, including the Petenwell Flowage ( 23,040 acres ) which I have fished for over 40yrs. and the connecting river system. I also fish many of the lakes in Wood, Vilas, Oneida, Marathon, Portage, Juneau, Adams, Marquette, Jackson, Lincoln, Monroe, and Taylor counties, and many others depending on what type of challenge your after. I will also give you a five dollar cash back for every female walleye over 25 inches that you C P R and will tell you where to get a replica mount made if you so choose. At any rate you will have digital pictures of your catch. Our waters need the female eye's to spawn again, and again, as the slot limit alone will not help for some time. For a booking and my prices, please contact me via the e-mail address,it will save you some money to buy from my sponsors, and I will get back to you ASAP. Here is what a few clients have had to say.

Hello Bob ( River Rat )
Im sending you this gift credit card from Bass Pro shops because you would not let me give you a tip!! You told me to buy from your sponsors, and I did that. I bought two new St.Croix rods and two new Shimano reels. I also got the exact jigs we used. I just wanted to tell you Thanks for the Great Time I had last week, (8-7-02) fishing with you. I wish you lived next door, as you would be a Great neighbor. I really appreciated you taking the time to let me run the boat, and teaching me how to read the river. I appreciated the little things as well, like the bottled cold water and Pepsi. I have often thought of how much time and expense you must have put in over the years to know as much as you do about fishing. Im not a total novice, but you certainly taught me a lot about fishing and the different methods that you use to catch Walleyes and Crappies in your neck of the woods. I also thought about how much you love your river system and how hard you are trying to make a difference in the future of it. The history of the river is fascinating, and to know that you have fished it for 40 years is awesome.I thought about many of the topics we talked about and I REALLY had a great time, very relaxing for me. Last year when I came up to fish the river I was with a guide ( It cost me $175.00 to catch 16 undersize walleyes that day!) and after reading your articles on the Internet, and talking to you, I knew I wanted to give you a try, even though you were talked about by him in an unkind way, I just figured it was from the competition among guides, and I sure am glad I did look you up. You were not at all what I was told you would be thats for sure. Bob, I will recommend you to my friends, and I know they will be glad to have you guide for them too! I wish I knew all of your sponsors addresses as I would personally write to them and tell them what a good job your doing.

James Woodward, your friend in Chicago

Hello,
My name is Jim Nelson, I live in the U.P.of Mich. I recently hired a guide to fish the Wis.river in central Wis.I have a grand son who I wanted to take fishing while he was on spring break.I hired a guide ( Bob Koeshall of Gone Fishing guide Service) I have to tell you people what an outstanding person he is.I have hired guides before as I am not a total rookie but I got to tell you this gentleman is like no other guide I ever hired. Right from the get go he said to me: Have you ever been taught about reading the water that your locator is showing you? I said I think I know how and he said great, get behind the wheel and lets go find me a spot to fish! I thought to myself I'm paying you to take me and my Grandson fishing and you want me to find fish? Well I learned in short order that I really did not know how to read a locator or for that matter what to really look for . He smiled up at me and said: I'll be happy to TEACH YOU and your grandson how.And he did just that. When we found some fish he asked if I knew what they were? I said no. he said Crappies, and he was right, we caught some of them later on. I'm sorry, this is getting to long but I just wanted you people to know what a fine represenitive of your products he is.He told me every item in his boat is the most important piece in the puzzle to catching fish. From the rods and reels to the boat to the minnow pails to lures to boat/motor and on and on.I got to tell you this, he NEVER WET A LINE!! He said I'm the teacher your the pupils and when I wanted to tip him for a great time he would not take it.Told me to take the money and buy some of the products he had in his boat and I will do just that. To all of you I say Thanks,You chose a good man,and great teacher, to show how your products work, and I will spread the word about him and your products.Next time you talk to bob, tell him I wrote to you,he deserves all the credit.Again,Thanks!

Sincerely,
Jim Nelson
