Captain Alex Crawford is a full time sportfishing charter guide who has fished Florida's Forgotten Coast for twenty-one (21) years. Based in Apalachicola, TopKnots Charters provides fun and productive on-the-water experiences year round for adults and children. When you select Captain Alex, you can count on an enjoyable adventure with safety always the highest priority.
Depending upon the season, we will target offshore fish species including black and red grouper, red and grey snapper, cobia, kingfish, dolphin fish, tuna, wahoo, triggerfish and black seabass. Inshore and nearshore species include tarpon, tripletail, redfish, speckled trout, pompano, spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, ladyfish, bluefish, flounder and sharks. Captain Alex will gladly guide you to your favorite species for a potential IGFA record or some tasty fillets for a gourmet fish dinner. Catch and release is encouraged.
Let us share with you a beautiful, healthy eco system including the world famous Apalachicola Bay and Barrier Island system. Unlimited adventures can be arranged for birding, shelling, snorkeling, swimming, picnicking, lighthouse trips or just relaxing on your own private, pristine white sand beach.
TopKnots Charters fishes the northern Gulf of Mexico offshore and inshore waters from Carrabelle to Port St. Joe, Florida including St. George Sound, Apalachicola Bay, St. Joe Bay and all of the Barrier Island passes.
The charter fishing vessel is a 23' center console Wellcraft, powered by a 200HP Yamaha HPDI outboard. With 125 gallons of fuel, TopKnots has the range to go out after the big ones and return safely to the dock. Customer comfort onboard is always of the utmost importance. U.S. Coast Guard safety equipment is constantly maintained and updated.
