I'm 32 now and my old man used to take me fishing a lot when I was a boy. We had a boat, an eyesore but it floated. I was about 6 years old at the time. My dad was teaching me to cast that day. I tried throwing towards the bank. I think the spot we were in was Sierra cove because I vagely remember a large pipe sticking out from the side of a hill. Anyhow, my cast was a little long and my lure landed on the shore. I started reeling it in and no sooner did it hit the water (WHACK!) I struggled for about 5 minutes with the help of my dad and landed a 3 lb or so lightning trout. Funny how I can't remember half of my highschool years but that memory is as vivid as it happened yesterday.
