Fishing Information

Golith Grouper, previously known as Jewfish. We discovered the Giant Goliath's in 1999. I saw some other guys fishing in a manner I had never seen before. One Big rod and reel, one fisherman and big baits. We saw them hook up several times before we saw that first giant, and they said it was a little one (maybe 150lbs). I could only imagine sharks. Turned out to be Real big fish, the Goliath Grouper. I've been hooked on big fish every since. Have found several places to catch the giants form April through November. When they are not in, we can always find some big sharks to spend time on.

Tried many methods and tackle, I have finnaly honed it down to a 'BIG fish catchin' process. On most trips it's just how many you want to catch, or fish til you can't haul one in.

Personal Background

Hi, I'm Captain Randy Knowles, resident/fisherman of Florida since age five. My dad loved fishing and we spent many days fishing the Central East and West coast of Florida. My dad loved trout fishing. I remember going wade fishing for trout along the causeways of the Indian River, me up to my neck and Dad, only waist deep. That was many years ago, his love of fishing and all those many memorable days of fishing with him fixed in me, the same.

Today I live in Winter Haven, centrally located allowing me to fish most parts of the central part of Florida, and either coast. I can be at Sebastion Inlet or the back bays of Charlotte in 2 hours.

Recently blessed with our first grandson Isaiah, born July 30, 2002. Future fisherman.

This year began full time Charter fishing, primarily in the back waters and passes of Charlotte Harbor, and Boca Grande. Specializing in Giant Goliath Grouper, but also fishing for Trout, Snook, Reds and Tarpon.
