A classic fly fishing lodge located in Northern California's Fall River Mills, part of the scenic Burney Falls region. Pit River Lodge is surrounded by world-class trout fishing, miles of hiking and biking trails, and is within a short distance from an 18 hole championship golf course.

Fine Dining

Enjoy unparalleled dining in our warm, casually elegant dining room. Looking through the French doors that open onto the porch, the view is incredible with 70-year old Western Sycamores lining the front drive.

Our cuisine is superb. Our chef is classically trained. He brings together the freshest of ingredients with finest in continental tradition. The result is meals that satisfy your appetite and please the discriminating palate.

Our menu changes daily and offers a wide selection. To enhance your dining experience, we maintain an excellent wine list and international beer selection.


Area Fishing

The Burney Basin Region is widely regarded as one of the best fishing areas in California. All of the streams in this area including Hat Creek, Fall River and Burney Creek are actually tributaries of the 200-mile long Pit River. Fall River and Hat Creek are particularly popular, and have been ranked by some experts among the top ten trout streams in North America.

The area also has several lakes including Baum Lake, Lake McCloud, Tule Lake, Eastman Lake, Big Lake, and Lake Britton.

Pit River Lodge will arrange guide services with the most knowledgeable guides in the area on a variety of schedules to suit your needs.

  • Half Day (5-6 hrs) on the Fall River: $235

Golf
Pit River Lodge is only 4 miles from Fall River Valley Golf and Country Club, an 18 hole championship golf course. Rated among the top 10 courses in California, it offers a spectacular challenge for the pro and relaxing enjoyment for the recreational golfer. High atop the bluff overlooking the Fall River, the course sports wonderful views of the natural beauty that is the Best Kept Secret in California.

White Water Rafting
White water rafting is a perfect way to stay cool during your stay at the Pit River Lodge. An exciting 45 minute river rafting trip begins just a short walk from the Lodge. Enjoy the natural wonders of the river in a raft or kayak from June through September. Call or email the Lodge for more information.

Hiking
Hiking is a favorite activity to be enjoyed in any season and there are many miles of trails near the Lodge to explore. The fresh, clean air of Northern California and the tranquility of nature are waiting to indulge you. Bird watchers can expect to witness Bald Eagles, Osprey, and Quail as just a few of the local species.

Bicycling
Grab a mountain bike and in minutes find yourself on a secluded, challenging stretch of single track. Ride the road and test your stamina on a 28-mile rolling loop.
