Photo Description: I took out 2 kayaks today, my brother and I went to one of My Favorite Fishing Holes, we paddled around this lake for about an hour and decided to try some fishing, the water was choppy in the deep side of the lake, so I ventured into the shallows, I had a hit immediately throwing a dark brown rubber worm under heavy cover. I pulleded the rod too soon to set the hook and that was it for fishing in the shallows. After about an hour and a half I headed out to deeper water, but I kept my kayak on the shallow edge. I decided to try a special rubber worm which actually swims like a wounded fish. I casted it out into the deep water and set my pole down for a few seconds as I started to clean up all the tackle on the floor of the kayak, I noticed my kayak moved quite a bit away from where I was and thought the wind was blowing me around. I grabbed a hold of my pole and right then I knew exactly why my kayak was moving, I dropped the anchor which held me in place, my fishing rod bent down pretty good, I said to my brother, this is a big one and I'm not going to put my hand in the water to take him out. After about ten minutes reeling in and letting the drag out a couple of times, I told this fish he was tired and it was time to bring him in. That fish did not want to come out of the water. He kept jumping and thrashing around, I waited another 5 minutes the fish wasn't ready to come in but I forced him onto the boat and set him on the bottom of the kayak floor, he flopped around with force almost knocking me out of my seat.I took my handkerchief and wrapped it over his eyes held it there long enough to get the hook out of his mouth. Got my brother to take a few snapshots and I'm happy to see that my favorite fighting fish are alive and well at my favorite fishing spot. This one went back to where he came from so I can catch him another day.
