Photo Description: It was the last trolling trip of this TDY at Andersen AFB, Guam. I have spent four months of every Saturday trolling the Oceans around Guam since the years beginning on a 19 foot Boston Whaler with a 140 Outboard Johnson rented from MWR Navy. After only reeling in 4 Wahoo, 3 giant barracuda, and 8 mahi mahi, this 270 lbs Blue Marlin closed my fishing adventure with a 1 hour and 50 minute fight. My 10 year old Penn 114 6/0 reel was smoking from the drag and was striped down to about 20 yards of 100# line left on the spool. This medium tackle was working hard and so were the skipper and I.

Was it really worth bringing the 123kg baby Blue Marline to the side or couldn't you revive it? Its not a negative comment, but in South Africa (Richardsbay) it is a commen catch. Saterday 23/3/2008 we tagged and released one of 120kg. You should come and visit our shores, its worth it!!!

How can you post something positive about this pic? I don't care what his comments are, only a novice would kill a non-record bill fish. I remember when I caught my first fish.....
