snook love to hide in shallow water sturcture (mangroves, briges, piers, etc.)you will most likely see them. there are many ways to catch them you can either put a whole live ladyfish or ahalf of a lady fish. you can also use artfical baits on lightwieght tackle or you can use live bait such as shads, greenbacks, or pinfish.

Snook are perhaps the best "non-oily" meat fish in the world. only the walleye comes close. They are best caught at the beginning or end of a slack tide. Bridges, piers, points and tidal mangrove pools are common haunts. Snook readily hit artificial lures but prefer a live lined shrimp. Snook are not a very smart type of fish and because they taste so good, they have been over fished heavly in States like Florida and Alabama which have a high number of red neck or "blue-collar" type fishermen.
