AiRRUS Rods made its' initial entry into the tackle industry at 2002 ICAST show in Las Vegas as SIRRUS Rods. It was at ICAST that we showcased and introduced our totally new and innovative rod technology to the tackle industry. Rods representative of this new technology were placed in ICAST'S "New Products Showcase" in order to provide feedback from the buyers as to the acceptance of new technology. We were elated by the response we had received from the buyers, as AiRRUS, then SIRRUS received the coveted "Best of Show" in the rod category award. There was no doubt in our mines at this point that we were on the cutting edge of a rod technology that may very well be destine to change the rod industry, as the introduction of graphite did in the 70's.

We received further conformation of the value of our rod technology, in April of 2003, as AiRRUS garnered Outdoor Life's prestigious "Editors Choice" award for best baitcasting rod in their 2003 Gear Test. Early in the year it was decided that we would create a new series of rods for ICAST 2003, with a limited number of models that would take the Co-MATRiX technology to the next level. This series was to become the SPECTRA AFT and was introduced at the 2003 ICAST show in Las Vegas on our first anniversary. Much to our surprise, but not to our dismay, we received the "Best of Show" in the rod category for the second year in a row. No other rod company, large or small, has ever won this award back to back in the history of ICAST. Great way to celebrate an anniversary.

We recently added icing to the cake when Peter Savoia of Sharon, Ontario, using AiRRUS Rods, won the Canadian Fishing Tour Classic, which is the equivalent of the Bassmaster Classic here in the states. Read the full story, by clicking on CFT National Classic on our entry page.

AiRRUS Rods has received many awards for a company that has only been in business for little more than a year.
