Since 1984, Telluride Outside has been the premier guide service in Southwest Colorado. We offer four exciting activities: fly fishing, 4x4 tours, whitewater rafting and mountain bike tours. Our guide service is based in our fly shop, the Telluride Angler, right in the middle of downtown Telluride. We look forward to guiding you in the spectacular wilderness surroundings of Telluride!
Telluride Outside has been the region's premier guide service since 1984. Our fly shop, Telluride Angler, was founded in 1994. We carry the finest brands, including Scott, Sage, Ross, Abel, Simms, Scientific Anglers and Ex Officio, but what truly distinguishes our company is quality staff and our commitment to service.
Our staff and guides have fished all over the world, but many of us learned to fly fish right here in Telluride. Our mission is to teach techniques, share experiences, and help our customers enjoy this wonderful sport.
The rivers and lakes of the San Juan Mountains are an angler's dreamscape. The beauty of our surroundings is matched only by the variety of our fly fishing opportunities. Within casting distance of Telluride are countless high country lakes and more than 200 miles of trout streams.
San Miguel River: The San Miguel is a true wild trout stream. Home to four species - rainbows, cutthroat, brown trout and brook trout - the San Miguel is one of the last undammed rivers in the Rocky Mountains. Easy access from Telluride and superb wild trout fishing make the San Miguel our most popular choice for guided trips.

Uncompahgre River: Telluride Outside has obtained a special permit to guide the trout rich waters of the Uncompahgre River. These are previously unguided waters, flowing clear and glassy from the dam on the Ridgway Reservoir. Large trout may be caught using a variety of techniques, from match-the-hatch dry flies to large streamers. Winter fishing can be just as productive as summer on the Uncompahgre, so no matter the season, take time to fish this special river.

Upper Dolores River: The Upper Dolores watershed is laced with countless cutthroat streams descending from alpine basins. Above the town of Dolores, the Dolores river is characterized by freestone pocketwater. The fish here are willing and the scenery magnificent.

Lower Dolores River: Below the McPhee Reservoir, the Dolores winds like a spring creek through a lush, low gradient valley. This is our most challenging dry fly water - a place for advanced anglers to test their skill and nerves.
