Silver River State Park is one of the most recent acquisitions in Florida's State Park system. The park has over 5,000 acres containing 14 distinct plant communities, nearly 20 miles of river frontage and many springs. Silver Springs, a nearby attraction, is the headwater of Silver River that flows into the Oklawaha River on its way to the St. Johns River.
