Read Answer Hey Jeremiah T. Bagwell I've been looking at some of your pointers in the past and I think your the go to guy. My question for you deals with spinnerbaits. We all know spinnerbaits are probably the average fishermans favorite bait but my question is how do you know which color blade is best in murky water on sunny days and overcast days. Are nickel coloardo blades the best on sunny days and gold blades the best on overcast days? Which do you favor, I noticed that black is a killer on overcast days sometimes. Can you help me?

Read Answer Thank you for answering Andrew Fotes question so comprehensively.

Would you please let me know what colour jigs you would use for deep bass in slightly stained water and what colour would you use when pitching into willow trees hanging and fallen into the water slightly stained approx 6 to 8 foot.

Looking forward to your advice, Larry watson

Read Answer Hi Jeremiah,
My son and I are just taking up fishing. He's 5. We fish in the Manasquan reservoir in NJ. It has Lg & Sml mouth bass, Hybrid striped bass, crappy, and some yellow perch. We fish off of some docks where the water is over 4 feet deep.

What would be an ideal set-up for my son who doesn't have the patients to use live bait on a bobber. We have used night crawlers and shiners. I have managed to catch some decent fish this way, He has not. He can cast pretty well and can jig it a bit too.

I am afraid that if he doesn't get something soon he is going to get discouraged. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Read Answer My son is 6 years old. He has had a strong passion for fishing since he has been 4. Life is all about fishing for him. He even says when he grows up, he is going to become a pro fisherman. What path do you suggest we take him down, and what is out there in the way of training, events, organizations, etc that we could involve him in? Thanks!

Read Answer Greetings.

I fish in the Seattle area. I do pretty well with plastics (natural colors) and crank baits at dawn when the bass move up to shallow (3 pounders). Then most of the bass retreat deep at 25-40 feet. Buy 10am only the little ones bite. Their are hundreds perhaps thousands of 5 to 9 pound lunkers that have ignored my tackle box for years. What can I do to get these big deep fish to bite? Jig and pig? Could you be specific about lure size, color, line, and weight? The bottom is mostly milfoil and thick. The water is fairly clear to moderate. Please help.

Read Answer I'm going to Tennessee for vacation and taking the grandkids camping near Ky. Lake. I only fish saltwater here in Florida, so I know nothing about freshwater fishing. I want the kids to catch fish - don't care what. Should I use live minnows, live worms, grasshoppers, what? Or, artificials?

I want to catch some bass myself. Now sure what depth to fish either. Should I use a cork and float the bait or bottom fish.

Thank you so much for any suggestions.

Respectfully,
Tim

Read Answer Do you ever do "product reviews"? My partner and I are REintroducing a lure retriever that was on the market during the late 80's and early 90's. The guys who origionally tried this project went broke. We found this product late last year and in Dec. of 02 we acquired the exclusive right to manufacture and distribute it. It is extremely neat and works just like they claim. Would be interested in your professional opinion of our retriever.

Thanks

Read Answer I am working on my Personal Management merit badge for Boy Scouts. I am very interested in becoming a pro fisherman. Would you please tell me 1) do you need any required qualifications 2)what responsibilities or duties do you have 3) are there any trade associations, professional associations, governmental regulations, or licenses in your career field. What job prospects are available, and how do you see your career changing in the future?

I am 14 years old, and have been fishing since I was two. It's really my favorite thing to think about. Thank you for your time, and as my Mom always says,...bring mama home a big one!

Sincerely,

Read Answer I recently fished a tournament with my brother in law. The weather was overcast and rainy, air temp around 70, water temp around 58 to 62. No bites 1st hour. 8o'clock hit and we caught 9 of our 10 fish limit. Three over 5&6lbs. Then the sun came out and they went cold. Could not get a 10th fish which would have won us the tournament. We came out third and less than a pound away. I know the front move through resulting in a high pressure. What would have been the best approach to catching a fish at this point? Any suggestions would be appreciated. We caught every one on the same color worm and only a worm.
