One of the most enjoyable fishing experiences you can have is to go after panfish. Any size type or species you want they all bring the same amount of enjoyment to an angler. Whether you are a small child pulling in your first fish or a long time angler just looking for a fun time, panfish cant be overlooked.

A simple light tackle rig with 2 lb test and a bobber or a small jig will be the perfect combination. There are arguments held everyday about what bait to use, panfish are not a picky as other species. Grasshoppers, crickets, worms are just a few ideas, a piece of bread kneaded together will also produce fish. There are tons of little jigs on the market that drive these little guys crazy. Creme lures puts out a set of jigs that are very economical and the fish will hit with a force beyond belief. There is nothing more fun or relaxing than battling a pint sized warrior who will fight with abandon until the battle is won in your favor of his. Panfish possess a massive amount of strenght for their size and a heck of an attitude in the fishing world. They swim in schools and if you find one odds are there are many more waiting to be caught.

This is the perfect time to take a young child fishing or anyone who has not had the experience of catching fish. What a way to start, I learned to catch perch at an early age and still to this day love to battle the mighty mights of the fishing world.
