G. Loomis Bass Mossyback Series Casting Rods

DESCRIPTION

Jig & Worm
Our MossyBack Jig & Worm Series is designed specifically for fishing jigs and soft plastics in and around heavy cover. Whether the fish are in the thick stuff or just hiding in the rocks, you need a rod that will give you sensitivity to feel the bite, the right action to set the hook and the power to control the fish. The MossyBack Series is our mid-priced models and feature our proprietary “fiber-blend” construction with full cork grips, Fuji guides and reel seats. There are eight casting rods and three spinning rods. If you're into lightweight and sensitivy, power and control, at an affordable price then the MossyBack Jig & Worm Series rods are an excellent option!

Carolina Rig
A pair of 7’3” casting rods designed specifically to fish soft plastics using a “Carolina Rig”. With this technique, the bait is attached to a leader via a barrel swivel ahead of an oversized, bead- enhanced weight to help keep the rig in constant contact with the bottom. The weight & beads create noise and on softer bottoms, little bursts of mud that help attract bass. Bass hear or see the bait coming along behind it and with any luck at all, they’ll eat it. These are fast- action power rods, made a little longer than normal to handle what can be a tricky rig to cast, as well as create more tip speed to extend your casting range and improve hook sets. These MossyBack rods feature our proprietary “fiber-blend” construction with Fuji guides and reel seats. Technique specific for the ultimate in performance!

Senko
When the bass are cruising the shallow flats and shallow creek channels in the spring you need a bait that will stay in the strike zone as long as possible yet still have enough action to entice a strike. A good choice is the soft plastic jerkbait. Our “Senko” rods are designed to fish these baits effectively. The extra length creates more tip-speed to initiate the hook-set and increased casting distance which is really important since the most of these baits weigh next to nothing. It’s not such a problem with the Senko or the Yum Dinger because they are the heaviest of the soft jerkbaits, but with baits like the IShad, Clone Fry or Super Fluke, you need a rod with a tip that will give you the ability to make nice long casts so you can cover more water, along with enough power to set the hook. These rods have the right stuff!!

Flipping Stick
Flipping is a unique technique that combines "power" fishing with a "finesse" approach. It's power because it requires heavy line, a powerful, yet sensitive rod for horsing fish out of heavy cover, yet it's finesse in that it requires fishing in very close proximity to the fish... soft, quiet presentations, requiring accuracy and precise lure control. The extra length of a flipping rod allows you to manage this exciting technique well. It can be a lot of fun and extremely effective, especially when the fish are tight to cover and not in the chasing mood. These MossyBack Flipping Rods feature split-grips with a 3" cork fighting-butt, a comfortable "hour glass" cork rear-grip, Fuji trigger reel seat and guides plus a 3" cork fore-grip. Put the power of G.Loomis engineering on your side... it's all about catching fish!!

Jig & Worm Series Handle Style B: This may well be one of our most universal bass casting rods! It has a nice blend of power and action for fishing small to medium-sized plastic worms, jigs and soft jerkbaits, especially when you’re fishing 15’ or less. The extra-fast tip makes it extremely accurate and the stiffer mid-section gives you the power to pull even big fish away from trouble.

Jig & Worm Series Handle Style B: Here’s where the "rubber meets the road"! Jig & Worm Series Handle Style C: Designed for fishing clear water lakes and rivers where long casts are required to avoid spooking fish. The extra length helps create more tip speed for increased casting distance and positive hook sets, even at the end of a long cast. When the bite gets tough and you need to downsize your baits, this rod can handle the smaller sized jigs and small worms with plenty of power. It’s a good option for fishing buzzbaits.

Jig & Worm Series Handle Style C: An incredibly versatile bass rod! It has a light enough tip to allow you to cast small to medium-sized jigs with total control and accuracy, yet it’s powerful enough to "snap set" the hook through a plastic worm and into a bass’ jaw with authority. The extra length creates higher tip speeds to help increase casting distance, but more importantly, it gives you plenty of power to set the hook in deep water.

Jig & Worm Series Handle Style C: This may well be the perfect all around big bass, big bait casting rod. A fast-action power stick designed specifically for fishing big bass in and around heavy cover. It’s got plenty of power to set the hook and move a big fish from cover before it gets a head of steam. A great option for Northern Pike!

Senko Series Handle Style A: This rod has a fast tip which helps initiate accurate casts, but when it comes to distance, our proprietary progressive power taper gives you additional rod flex to accelerate your cast and get your bait where you need it to be. The lower 3/4th of the rod is stiff to help you set the hook and pull big bass out of tough spots. When she tries to go back to her sanctuary, you’ve to the power to stop her.

Senko Series Handle Style B: A lot of strikes occur as soon as the bait hits the water and those fish are the ones that are the hardest to hook. Sometimes, it's a faulty hook, but many times it's a lack of sufficient power in the rod. Anglers say they need a lighter tip to cast these weight-free rigs (you’re practically casting a bare hook!) yet they also need sufficient power to set the hook. This rod offers a great combination of both. It will cast those feather-light, weightless rigs a country mile because we’ve designed the tip to do that, but then we engineered a little extra power into the butt-section to help you close the deal.

Jig & Worm Series Handle Style C: Sheer brute force in a jig and worm rod and you won’t believe how light it is. If a big bass hangs you up in the brush, just bring him out limbs, roots and all! No more Mr. Nice Guy with this rod. When it’s time to give those big bass the no treatment, this is the rod you want in your hands. The ultimate deep-water jig rod! A great option for casting big topwater plugs for stripers.

Carolina Rig Series Handle Style C: Our lighter power Carolina Rig rod, designed to fish medium to heavy line, lighter rigs at moderate depths. Lighter - smaller diameter - line means less drag and allows you to use less weight which helps improve sensitivity. The whole concept with this rig is to cover lots of area, keep the bait in constant contact with the bottom and catch those stubborn fish that for whatever reason, won’t eat a Texas-rigged bait.

Carolina Rig Series Handle Style C: When the fish are on deep isolated humps and ridges you need more weight to keep your rig on the bottom. When there’s lots of brush and weeds down there, you need more power to get the fish out of all that stuff. And... when the fish are bigger than normal, you need a rod that can handle them. Allow me to introduce you to your new friend! It’s made for the big rigs, deep-water, lots of cover and oversized bass. Advantage angler!

Flipping Sticks Series Handle Style B: When you want to back off just a bit, especially in clear water, or the bite just gets tough, this rod will give you the ability to use lighter line and smaller lures. It’s a great option for fishing edges and boat docks for largemouth, spots and smallmouth where a stealthy approach is required... especially if you don’t necessarily need an overpowering rod to get the fish to the boat. It works exceptionally well in grass and around boulder patches where line & lure control is important.
