Jig & Worm
Our MossyBack Jig & Worm Series is designed specifically for fishing jigs and soft plastics in and around heavy cover. Whether the fish are in the thick stuff or just hiding in the rocks, you need a rod that will give you sensitivity to feel the bite, the right action to set the hook and the power to control the fish. The MossyBack Series is our mid-priced models and feature our proprietary “fiber-blend” construction with full cork grips, Fuji guides and reel seats. There are eight casting rods and three spinning rods. If you're into lightweight and sensitivy, power and control, at an affordable price then the MossyBack Jig & Worm Series rods are an excellent option!
A pair of 7’3” casting rods designed specifically to fish soft plastics using a “Carolina Rig”. With this technique, the bait is attached to a leader via a barrel swivel ahead of an oversized, bead- enhanced weight to help keep the rig in constant contact with the bottom. The weight & beads create noise and on softer bottoms, little bursts of mud that help attract bass. Bass hear or see the bait coming along behind it and with any luck at all, they’ll eat it. These are fast- action power rods, made a little longer than normal to handle what can be a tricky rig to cast, as well as create more tip speed to extend your casting range and improve hook sets. These MossyBack rods feature our proprietary “fiber-blend” construction with Fuji guides and reel seats. Technique specific for the ultimate in performance!
When the bass are cruising the shallow flats and shallow creek channels in the spring you need a bait that will stay in the strike zone as long as possible yet still have enough action to entice a strike. A good choice is the soft plastic jerkbait. Our “Senko” rods are designed to fish these baits effectively. The extra length creates more tip-speed to initiate the hook-set and increased casting distance which is really important since the most of these baits weigh next to nothing. It’s not such a problem with the Senko or the Yum Dinger because they are the heaviest of the soft jerkbaits, but with baits like the IShad, Clone Fry or Super Fluke, you need a rod with a tip that will give you the ability to make nice long casts so you can cover more water, along with enough power to set the hook. These rods have the right stuff!!
Flipping is a unique technique that combines "power" fishing with a "finesse" approach. It's power because it requires heavy line, a powerful, yet sensitive rod for horsing fish out of heavy cover, yet it's finesse in that it requires fishing in very close proximity to the fish... soft, quiet presentations, requiring accuracy and precise lure control. The extra length of a flipping rod allows you to manage this exciting technique well. It can be a lot of fun and extremely effective, especially when the fish are tight to cover and not in the chasing mood. These MossyBack Flipping Rods feature split-grips with a 3" cork fighting-butt, a comfortable "hour glass" cork rear-grip, Fuji trigger reel seat and guides plus a 3" cork fore-grip. Put the power of G.Loomis engineering on your side... it's all about catching fish!!
